Methodology of al-Imam al-Tirmidhī in Qur’ānic Sciences Through Kitāb al-Tafsīr in His Book al-Jāmiʿ

This research is a study around the approach of al-Imām al-Tirmidhī in Qur’anic Sciences through the book of Tafsir in his al-Jāmi’, and accordingly this study aimed to collect hadīths related to Qur’anic Sciences in the book of Tafsir in the al-Tirmidhī’s al-Jāmiʿ and from here we analyze those hadiths related to Qur’anic Sciences. Al-Tirmidhī has mentioned several hadīths related to the various Qur’anic Sciences such as Al-Waḥy (Revelation), Asbāb Al-Nuzūl (The Contexts and Occasions of the Revelation of the Qur´ān), the science of Gharīb Al-Qur’ān (Words and Phrases in the Qur´ān that Sound Obscure), al-Qirā´at (Methods of Recitation) and Suwar (the Chapters of the Holy Qur’ān) and Al-Nāsikh Wa Al-Mansūkh (Abrogation of the Qur´ān), and their number reached more than a hundred. This research calls for further study specializing in the studies of the al-Qur’ān and al-Sunnah, proficiency in Qur’anic Sciences and everything related to The Science of Interpretation. These sciences help to understand what the al-Qur’ān contains, and knowledge of these sciences helps greatly in refining modern issues and leads to a correct understanding of the Qur’ān.
