The role of women in public affairs remains a pivotal subject of discussion in contemporary societies, particularly in relation to women’s participation in social and civic life. Despite the fact that the Sunnah outlines a broad and coherent framework for women’s engagement in public affairs, scholarly interpretations and practical applications of the relevant prophetic traditions exhibit significant variation. This study aims to investigate the position and participation of women in public life as articulated in the Sunnah. It focuses on a selected body of hadiths concerning women’s involvement in public matters, with the scope confined specifically to issues of social participation. Methodologically, the study adopts an analytical-inductive approach. It examines the principal hadith texts related to women’s public roles and analyzes the diverse exegetical and juristic interpretations that have emerged around them. The findings are expected to demonstrate that the Sunnah offers a flexible and adaptable framework for women’s participation in public life. The study is further expected to propose recommendations that support the strengthening of women’s roles in public engagement in a manner that aligns with Islamic values while safeguarding established religious and jurisprudential principles.
