Rasullullah SAW was endowed with eloquence in speaking which could not be denied by any Islamic scholar. However, the scholars of Arabic syntax (grammar) disagree on whether to accept or reject ḥadīth as a source of argument (shahid) in the method of Arabic syntax. This is the starting point of most ḥadīth utterances narrated with meaning and the occurrence of laḥn (composition) on the ḥadīth utterance because it exists among narrators consisting of non-Arabs. Past studies show that among the Arabic syntactic figures who are said to reject hadith in the Arabic syntactic method is al-Suyuti. However, some studies say he is in the middle, which is between accepting and rejecting it. In this regard, this study aims to see the discussion of researchers on al-Suyuti's views in accepting hadith as a source of Arabic syntactic methodology. This study uses a qualitative approach with data acquisition methods utilising the analysis of the researchers' studies and their arguments. The findings show that al-Suyuti accepted ḥadīth as a source of argument in the Arabic syntax method but only accepted the ḥadīths narrated in the words of Rasulullah SAW and coincided with the Arabic syntax method. This can be evidenced by his views in the book of al-Iqtirāḥ fī 'Ilm Uṣūl al-Naḥw and he also brought many ḥadīths as arguments of Arabic syntactic methodology in his books that are Ham‘ al-Hawāmi‘ fī Sharḥ Jam‘ al-Jawāmi‘ and al-Ashbāh wa al-Naẓā’ir fī al-Naḥw.
